Start with the Clocktower
The Museum of Croydon is a good first stop if you want to understand the area beyond its main shopping streets. Look at the current exhibitions and visitor information, then leave time for a café or a browse around nearby Surrey Street.
The David Lean Cinema is also based in the Clocktower. Its programme offers another reason to come into town, whether you build a day around a screening or make it a separate evening out.
Choose a live performance
Fairfield Halls on Park Lane has a programme spanning different kinds of live entertainment. Pick an event that interests you and plan the rest of your visit around its advertised start time.
South End's restaurants provide options for a meal before or after a performance. Leave enough time to enjoy it, and check the venue's access and booking information when choosing seats.
Swap the centre for open space
Lloyd Park, beside Coombe Road, gives you parkland, mature trees and woodland away from the busy centre. It suits a walk or time outside without needing to organise a full day trip.
Use the council's park page for facilities and practical details, and TfL for the journey. Transport changes can affect tram connections, so plan from current information rather than relying on an old route description.
